We’ve made changes on how we handle orders with anti-reflective (AR) coatings when applied to polarized or dark #3 sun tinted lenses. Previously, Encore Vision would opt-in orders that were both (polarized/#3 tint) and had an AR coat into a backside-only anti-reflective. This was to preserve the cosmetic lens tint color on the front of the eyewear, and to keep light transmittance low so that the lenses could reject more sunlight.
We still suggest backside-only AR on sunwear for the above reasons, but it must be requested during ordering so that we do not make an unwanted change on your behalf. The backside only AR carries the same one year warranty as our Oxide 1YR AR and has the same cost. If you place orders through RxWizard the coating code is OXB for Oxide backside-only AR.
